實驗室強調跨領域研究，風格自由，對於實驗室以及研究有討論的空間。重視自我學習與團隊合作，每周有固定group meeting 一起討論研究和新知，也可以和老師另外約時間討論。
Group members come from different backgrounds, and participate in interdisciplinary researches. Members are expected to be open-minded and self-motivated. We compete with people outside our group and do NOT compete with people in our group. We have weekly fixed group meetings for discussing research and new knowledge, as well as the ability to schedule separate meetings with the PI.
由於研究內容多為跨領域，只要有研究熱忱，其餘的專業課程可在碩士期間進行修習。大學期間至少學習過工程或物理相關的課程，如微積分、工程數學、統計學、物理、力學等知識將對未來研究有相當大的幫助。
Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the research, a passion for research is the main requirement, and any remaining professional courses can be taken during the Master's degree. It is expected that prospective students have studied engineering or physics related courses such as calculus, engineering mathematics, statistics, physics, mechanics, etc. during their undergraduate degree, as this knowledge will be beneficial for future research.
如果確定就讀，建議新生可以在正式開學前，抽空來實驗室學習實驗基本技巧（因為開學後學長姐和老師都很忙，可能沒有機會教你）。因為學生的背景不同，若是沒有基本生物的知識，可以修細胞生物學相關的課程，若是生物背景，可以補足力學相關課程，可以跟老師和同學討論。
另外，若是畢業後想往業界發展，建議提早規劃，可以修老師開的商品化相關課程。老師也會安排不同的講者來學校和大家分享，希望大家能把握機會。從研究所畢業不是終點，而是生涯和職涯的一個起點。
If you are certain about enrolling, it is recommended that new students take some time before the class starts to learn basic experimental skills in the laboratory (because senior students will be very busy after the start of the academic year and may not have the opportunity to teach you). 實驗室重視安全以及整潔，研究重視邏輯思考，髒亂的環境不會產生容易解讀的研究成果。負責任的態度和尊重彼此也是必須。
