Friday = Spirit Day! 💜🖤
Show your Vista del Lago pride by wearing purple, black, gray, your class shirt, team shirt, club shirt, or program shirt.
Sometimes we’ll have special spirit themes, too, check our Instagram to stay in the loop!
Homecoming is a traditional high school event that corresponds with a football game.
Each year, there's a different theme! That theme is used for the assembly decorations, for the football halftime show, and for the dance.
The homecoming dance is usually held the day after the homecoming football game. It's held at the school and is casual!
Anyone purchasing a ticket needs to maintain 95% positive attendance in order to remain eligible to attend. Major disciplinary action may also make a student ineligible to attend.
Students are able to bring guests from outside VDLHS if they have purchased a ticket* with the approved guest pass. Guests are required to be at least high school age and under 21 years of age. Guest passes are available closer to the date of the dance and require:
Student information for the VDLHS student and their guest
Parent/Guardian signatures for the VDLHS student and guest
Guest's school administration approval
VDLHS administration approval
*Raven Card discount does not apply to guest tickets
Dance Royalty
In order to run for dance royalty, a student needs to nominate themselves via their Class of Google Classroom - when it's time to run, a Google Form will be posted to nominate.
The qualifications to be eligible for the Royalty Court are:
2.0 GPA in the most current grading period
No suspensions or major disciplinary actions taken in the school year
95% positive attendance
Raven ASB Cardholder
Club Rush is the perfect chance to check out all the clubs on campus and find the ones you want to join!
It happens twice a year, fall and spring, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to get involved.
Didn’t see a club that interests you? No problem, you can create your own! Just head over to the Club page on this site for details on how to start one.
Assemblies (Pep Rallies) are all about school spirit!
They spotlight our athletic teams each season, showcase performances from different campus groups, and even feature fun students vs. staff competitions.
In the gym, each grade has its own section, and on assembly days, the spirit theme usually asks you to wear your class color, so the gym is full of bold, matching blocks of color!
Class Colors:
🎓 Class of 2029 → White
🎓 Class of 2028 → Purple
🎓 Class of 2027 → Grey
🎓 Class of 2026 → Black
We love celebrating our Ravens who crush it in the classroom!
Twice a year, we host Academic Recognition Events for students with a 3.5 GPA or higher, featuring treats, music, and games.
Here’s how it works:
1st Semester Event → celebrates grades from the previous spring semester. (Invites go to sophomores, juniors, and seniors who earned a 3.5+.)
2nd Semester Event → celebrates grades from the fall semester of the current year. (This time, freshmen are included too!)
It’s our way of recognizing your hard work and dedication, because academics deserve to be celebrated!
At Vista, giving back is part of who we are. ❤️

Usually held in March before Spring Break, our staff and student teams go head-to-head for the trophy and ultimate bragging rights. So far, the staff team has been on top… but this year, it’s anyone’s game! Who will take the win?
At Vista, giving back goes beyond our Week of Giving! We encourage all clubs and programs to make a difference in our community. There are lots of service-oriented clubs you can join, check out the approved clubs list to find one that sparks your interest.
Our Leadership program also hosts a major service project every year: a prom for students with severe disabilities from across the district. We team up with other clubs, community groups, and local businesses to make this event a memorable night for everyone involved.

At the end of the year, seniors come together again for Senior Sunset, watching the sun set on their senior year. This event also doubles as Senior Movie Night, where you can enjoy a student-selected movie under the stars! 🎬✨

Vista del Lago High School Grad Nite is a senior tradition at Disneyland! 🎉 (The theme park may change depending on cost and availability; in the past, Grad Nite was in Universal Studios)
If it is Disneyland:
Seniors get a park hopper ticket, so you can enjoy both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure until 9 PM. After that, it’s time for the exclusive Grad Nite party at California Adventure until 2 AM!
Along with rides, there are DJs and dance areas throughout the park, so the celebration goes all night. 🎶✨
