ILIGAN CITY NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
Iligan City National High School (ICNHS) is a place of refuge of learners from the low and middle income families. It is the heart of the City in terms of attaining Secondary level Education. It is the school open for the whole community of Iligan regardless of race, religion or family’s economic status. It is the biggest school in Iligan City that caters the students’ need for education.
Furthermore, it is one of oldest and best schools in Iligan City. It is a school that takes part of the most successful professionals in and out of the City. It is a school that survives through the decades of tough economic challenges of Iligan City.
In Addition, the school manages to accommodate more students by operating into two shifts -1st and 2nd Shifts- and opening a network of ICNHS Annexes in Barangay Pala-o and Tambacan Iligan City.
Remarkably, ICNHS which comprises of three hundred sixty six (366) teaching and non-teaching force have been competent on running three special programs namely the Special Science Curriculum (SSC), the Special Program for Sports (SPS) and The Alternative learning

BRIEF HISTORY OF ILIGAN CITY NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
The Iligan City National High School was established July 1, 1963 by the Honorable City Mayor Camilo P. Cabili. It started to offer the first and second year high school with an initial enrolment of two hundred sixty four (264) and with only thirteen (13) faculty members. The initial school budget approved by the city council for the operation and maintenance of the school was P64,000.00.
Twenty years later, the school enrolment increased tremendously from 264 students in 1963 to 7,140 students in 1983, while school budget skyrocketed from P64.000.00 to about four million pesos (P4,000,000.00) for the same period. The huge appropriation constituted a big grain on the city coffers.
In November 1983, the bill sponsored by the Assemblyman Abdullah Dimaporo to nationalize the high school upon recommendation of the City Mayor Cabili and the Sangguniang Panglunsod was signed into law and the ICNHS became Iligan City National High School with a national budget of P4,600.000.00 for calendar year 1984.
ICNHS pursues the educational goals and objectives of the DepEd and directs all its efforts to contribute towards the attainment of the National Development.

Considered as one of the biggest public school in Mindanao. It is therefore, committed to the educational needs of the children of the middle and low income families. it seeks to offer within the limitations imposed by its location and that of the region's resources, a reasonably high quality of education built or an adequate foundation for liberal education.
In line with DECS thrusts, the Iligan City National High School aims to provide students with learning experiences so that at the end of the four-year secondary course, they may;
Grow in justice and love towards becoming committed individuals manifested in their lives and the lives of others they may touch.
Be prepared to whatever course they may pursue after high school by means of well-rounded academic and vocational preparation.
Manifest attitude of well-integrated mature personality deeply imbued with spiritual and human values.
Demonstrate responsible citizens and a genuine pride in their cultural heritage as Filipinos who are conscious of the world situation in general and of the Philippines, in particular.
