Awards 2023

Congratulations to our Secretary/Treasurer, Joe McGinn, recipient of the Barbershopper of the Year Award for 2023. The Barbershopper of the Year Award is given to the member whose contributions to the Chapter have brought him distinction and have significant benefit to the chorus. Joe stepped up when we needed not only a Treasurer, but also stepped up and took the Secretary's job as well. He has also filled in as Director in Mark's absence. What more could you ask for? Well he performs in the “7 Hills Four” quartet and of course is a valued “lead” in the chorus. And, he's done an excellent job in every area. Joe made the choice for this year's award easy, Thanks, Joe. Your hard work and dedication are greatly appreciated. Again, congratulations to Joe McGinn.

Congratulations to Tom Cooper recipient of the Joe Roughan Light-House Award for 2023. This Award is symbolized by a hand-crafted model light-house in a glass case with a plaque bearing the name of that year's recipient. It is given to that member whose presence can "light up the room" and his actions go above and beyond expectation. Tom with his music knowledge, talent, energy, and enthusiasm gladly stepped up and took on the greatly needed open position of Music Committee Chairman. His goal is to do the best he can to make our chapter as performance ready as possible. His best tool has been his weekly publication of “Rehearsal Echos” where he points out our strengths and weaknesses from the previous rehearsal along with tips to help us improve. Tom definitely made this year's choice an easy one. Congratulations again, Tom Cooper.
