Biology
Biology
Introduction
This subject aims to cultivate students' appreciation for the intricate biological world and respect for life. Through the study of biological courses, students gain relevant scientific processes and conceptual knowledge, which helps them understand various contemporary issues and comprehend the interrelationships between science, technology, society, and the environment. Additionally, students can establish a consciousness of respecting the biological world, develop a sense of civic responsibility, and strengthen their commitment to personal and community health.
The curriculum design and learning activities are geared towards enhancing students' observation, analytical, creative, and expressive skills. Through various learning activities such as field trips, experimental activities, and university lab courses, students can reinforce their subject knowledge while also increasing their interest in biology.
Biology Curriculum
To effectively enhance teaching and learning outcomes tailored to students' learning needs, the Biology Curriculum has been adjusted to implement differentiated instruction. The outlines for each level of the curriculum are as follows:
Activities
Scientific Inquiry and Experiential Activities
By participating in off-campus scientific and related inquiry and experiential activities, students can broaden their horizons, deepen their classroom knowledge, and enhance their interest in biology. This exposure also helps them understand various academic disciplines and careers related to science.
Biotechnology Mobile Laboratory:
Students conduct biotechnology experiments in a mobile laboratory, enhancing their interest in learning and broadening their horizons.
Field trip:
Students gain a deeper understanding of the importance of biodiversity and explore the relationships among different organisms and their roles within the environment during field trips. This experience enhances students' environmental awareness, respect for living beings and life, and encourages reflection on the relationship between humans and nature.
Dissection Experiment:
Through the dissection of organs and organisms, students gain an understanding of biological structures and physiological phenomena.
The Science Society organizes a variety of activities each school year, aiming to provide students with opportunities to delve into the field of science. Through engaging events during lunch times, students will not only gain deeper scientific knowledge but also joyfully conduct simple experiments. These activities will enhance their scientific inquiry skills. We hope that LCK students will develop a greater interest in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
Introduction of Science Society
Biology collaborates with Physics and Chemistry to establish a Science Society. The Science Society is dedicated to promoting scientific literacy within the school, allowing students to engage with science during their free time. This initiative aims to enhance students' self-learning abilities and foster their interest in learning.
