My name is Jennifer Zhang, and I have been teaching at the Scholars Academy for more than a decade. I received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Master of Arts in Teaching, both from Coastal Carolina University. My teaching experience includes Geometry Honors, Algebra II Honors, Algebra III Honors, Pre-Calculus Honors, AP Calculus AB, and AP Calculus BC. You can also find me teaching Calculus 1 on the Coastal Carolina University campus after school hours.
My hobbies include reading, exercising, and, of course, teaching. I also love spending time with my family whenever we’re all at home or vacationing somewhere. I am married to my husband, Ming, and have two sons, Jason and Eric. Both Jason and Eric are alumni of the Scholars Academy and completed their undergraduate degrees at Arizona State University and Johns Hopkins University, respectively. My husband and I are very proud of both of them and the accomplishments they have achieved.
I began my teaching career in China, teaching mathematics in a school near my hometown. Growing up, I have always enjoyed learning new things and fell in love with math during my time in school. I felt a passion for teaching and pursued that passion after moving to Conway, SC. My teaching philosophy is that students, as long as they put in the effort, will be able to succeed. I always encourage my students to do their best and ask any questions that they have.
