Greetings! My name is TJ Tsai. I am an associate professor of engineering at Harvey Mudd College. I completed my bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering at Stanford, worked for several years at SoundHound, and then completed my Ph.D. at UC Berkeley. Throughout that time, I kept up an interest in classical piano, chamber music, and jazz as a hobby. I have been on the faculty at Harvey Mudd since 2016, where I get to combine three things that I love: teaching, engineering, and music. My research explores the intersection of music, signal processing, and machine learning. One of the greatest joys for me is getting to work with students and helping them flourish. I live in Upland with my wife and two kids.
