The Flow Imaging Lab at Mudd (FILM) is directed by Prof. Leah Mendelson. Prof. Mendelson joined the faculty at Harvey Mudd College in July 2017. Her research interests include unsteady aquatic locomotion, bio-inspired flow control, and low-cost techniques for fluid flow measurement.

Her work on jumping archer fish has been featured by The Academic Minute, AIP Scilight, MIT News, MIT Technology Review, Inside JEB, earth.com, and ASME.org.

Prof. Mendelson earned her B.S. in 2011 from Olin College, her M.S. in 2013 from MIT, and her Ph.D. in 2017 from MIT, all in mechanical engineering.
