Description of project

Greenland's glacial fjords are vital elements of global ocean circulation, exporting freshwater from melting glaciers into the greater ocean. Driven by climate change, more glaciers are retreating from marine to land-terminating: two systems which differ crucially in their dynamics. For my thesis project, I'm using mathematical tools to explore these differences and their implications for broader patterns of circulation and stratification.
