Science Hall Physical Education Test
1st Grade through 5th Grade
Our physical education program has dedicated itself to student fitness and we are making sure our students understand the importance of setting goals and working hard to achieve them. We give our 3rd through 5th grade students three tests, including the state required FITNESSGRAM test. Our September test gives us a start point. Our students are gauging their cardiovascular, muscular strength, and a skill test. The test to measure cardiovascular endurance is our famous 20 meter pacer test. We use push-ups test to measure upper body strength and jump roping for our skills test. The FITNESSGRAM test, which is their final test, will be given in the spring, will include a flexibility test and abdominal strength test.
Our first and second graders will be given the test in the winter and at the end of the year. They do not take the FITNESSGRAM test. We will be testing using a checklist that will include, the ability to tie a shoe lace, under hand throw, jump rope at their level, tracking and catching a ball, foot trapping and kicking a ball and their ability to stop.
If you have questions on our testing, please reach out to Coach Garcia.
