Math Pentathlon at the Division I level is for Kinder and 1st graders, Division II level is for 2nd and 3rd graders and Division III is for 4th and 5th graders. Students will learn a series of 5 games. They will practice weekly from November through April, learning strategies and mathematical concepts. These games help students push the boundaries of their cognitive development.
Math Pentathlon would not exist if we didn't have parent volunteers. We need volunteers at our weekly practices to help facilitate the activities. Adults will find the games fun and challenging and will be learning the games along with the students. On tournament day, we will need one adult per two students to act as a game monitor. Training will be provided on being a monitor.
Parents will need to register their student online by early February and pay the tournament fee and commit to the tournament competition.
Students will compete against students from around the Austin Metro Area.
Division I - Kinder-Grade 1 students compete on Saturday TBA 2025.
Division II - Grades 2-3 students compete on Saturday TBA 2025.
Division III - Grade 4-5 students compete on Saturday TBA 2025.
At the tournament students will demonstrate their mastery of the games while showing good sportsmanship. Students must shake hands with their competitor both before and after a game.
