CRISTAL Q. MARTINEZ PEREZ (violin), will be completing the Bachelor of Music Studies degree and Spanish minor at Texas State in May 2025. She studied violin under the tutelage of Dr. Lynn Ledbetter and has served as concertmaster of the Texas State Symphony Orchestra from 2022-2025. She has performed in the Youth Orchestra of Las Angeles National Festival and the Encuentros Orchestra(2022) in LA under the direction of Gustavo Dudamel. Some of her chamber performance experiences include Venus Quartet, Cassiopeia Duo, Crivastalian Duo, and Mariachi Lince de Oro. 

Cristal is a dedicated music educator. She currently works as a string teacher in the TXST chapter of String Project leading group classes and private lessons. She also serves as a private instructor at First Protestant Church in New Braunfels, TX. She has experience leading sectionals and masterclasses for orchestras participating in UIL competitions. 

After completing her student teaching semester in SCUCISD, Cristal plans on continuing to share her passion for music education and performance with her students.
