Your mariachi fees can be payed through REVTRAK. If paying in cash please bring cash to Mr. Figueroa so that he can provide a receipt.
In order to qualify for a mariachi cord, the student must meet one of the following:
Must be part of UIL state qualifying group (varsity) for a minimum of consecutive 2 years.
Have made TMEA All- State mariachi (at least one time during high school).
Is part of a National Music Honor Organization and is in good standing.

We recommend that you take your traje to be dry-cleaned once a semester or as needed depending on the usage.
If your student is a senior and has been in the mariachi program for four years, the student qualifies for a jacket. In addition, if any student who has made it into the TMEA Region All-state mariachi or has competed in UIL solo state competition and received a division 1 also qualifies for the jacket. Our policies are being reviewed in order to maintain consistency with the policy of band, choir, and orchestra please make sure to check with director for any further questions.
That depends on you. The mariachi program does have certain instruments that we can rent out such as; Guitars, Vihuelas, Guitarrones, and very few violins. If you wish to rent an instrument with a music company you are welcomed to. It is up to the student and parent whether they would like to make the investment and purchase the instrument.
Please send us an email so that we can give you a list of teachers that could be available for private lessons. Please note that any private lesson will not be paid by the mariachi program. The private instructors we recommend are only recommendations and you are welcomed to pick someone else that might work best for you.
No, students cannot decide to change ensembles. Students have auditions in may in order to have their placement for the following school year. Directors may change students to a different ensemble depending on situation or need.
