The Holiday Lecture is staying virtual this year! After many years of in-person fun at Harvard and Princeton, we are continuing to keep the lecture on-line for 2021. This Zoom webinar designed for family participation will be about an hour in length, and will include cool demonstrations, short in-home activities, and interactive questions. See below for some instructions on how to make the lecture fun at home.

You will receive a unique zoom link for your family, so if you would like to invite other families, please send them to this registration link to register.

Closed captioning and American Sign Language interpreters will be available during the presentation. If you have any questions or require any additional accommodations, please let us know in your zoom registration, or email us at harvardprinceton.holidaylecture@gmail.com.

Preparing for the lecture - submitting photos & word cloud

  • We will generate a word cloud of words that describe fluids. Pick a fluid (a gas or a liquid), and think of one word to describe it, or just enter the name of your chosen fluid. During the lecture, see if you can find your word!

  • We will also select some photos of families with a fluid of choice for a collage in the powerpoint during parts of the presentation. Other photos will be posted to our website. See if you can find yourself in the presentation!

You can submit your word and photo here:

You will need a google account to sign into the form.

Preparing for the lecture - materials to gather

Even though we will be on-line, we'd like to make the lecture as interactive as possible. You can gather some or all of these items to do your own experiments during the lecture:
