Casey Kearney

I am an Assistant Professor (Education) in the School of Public Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

For the 2022-2023 academic year, I was a visiting fellow at the Centre for International Studies (CIS) at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Research Areas

I study international financial flows and international financing decisions. My current project examines the political economy of capital inflow surges, sudden stops and management. I investigate how traditional political business cycle effects are mediated and magnified by prevailing trends in international finance and ultimately how this interaction shapes our understanding of when governments are able to effectively manage large capital inflows and reversals.

My CV is available here.
