The focus of your summer work is the reading and application of skills from Jay Heinrichs's book Thank You For Arguing. Though the book exists in four editions, the changes across editions are relatively minor, so you are welcome to use whichever is most accessible or interesting. My recommendation is that you get the most recent edition, as it makes references that are more current and polished. Also, the later editions include practice sections that can help you assess yourself and solidify your understanding of concepts.
How to get a copy of the book:
Buy one from your local book store (best option, as you can write in it and keep it)
Borrow one from the media center or the public library
Talk to me in room A111--I have a few copies that I can lend out as needed.
If you have trouble obtaining a copy, come speak with me to help connect you to other means.
