Heat Transfer

  • Heat is the flow of energy from a warm object to a cooler object.

  • Heat energy results from the movement of the tiny particles in solids, liquids, and gases and can be transferred from one object to another.

  • This transfer, which we call “heat,” happens because of the difference in temperatures between the two objects.

  • Heat energy moves from warmer objects to colder objects until both objects have the same temperature.
