Every student must pay a $15 yearly AP Exam fee, regardless of whether they qualify for free or reduced lunch.
Gwinnett County Public Schools pays for each student’s first AP Exam every year.
Additional exams are priced as follows:
Regular cost: $99 each
Reduced lunch: $56 each
Free lunch: $0 each
To make this clearer, here are a few examples:
A student taking only AP World History will pay just the $15 yearly fee.
A student taking AP World History and AP Biology (2 exams):
Regular cost → $15 yearly fee + $99 for the second exam = $114 total
Reduced lunch → $15 yearly fee + $56 for the second exam = $71 total
Free lunch → $15 yearly fee only = $15 total
A student taking AP World History, AP Biology, and AP Psychology (3 exams):
Regular cost → $15 yearly fee + 2 exams at $99 each = $213 total
Reduced lunch → $15 yearly fee + 2 exams at $56 each = $127 total
Free lunch → $15 yearly fee only = $15 total

If your student does not qualify for free or reduced lunch OR your family still needs assistance paying the reduced fees, fill out the application anyway and then contact Dr. Wylie at adrienne.wylie@gcpsk12.org to request a scholarship form.
Please know: the cost of exams should never be a barrier. If your student wants to take an exam, I will work to make sure funding is found.
