Meet Our Counselors
Ms. Hyman has a B.A. in Psychology from Arizona State University, a M.Ed. in School Counseling from Georgia State University and an Ed.S. in School Counseling from the University of West Alabama. She has been a school counselor in Gwinnett County for 19 years. Prior to entering the public school system, Ms. Hyman was employed with Cobb County DFACS Child Protective Services Investigations. She and her husband stay busy with two high schoolers involved in baseball and gymnastics!
Ms. Aviña has a B. A. in Psychology and a M.Ed. in School Counseling from Georgia State University. This is her first year working as a middle school counselor in Gwinnett County. For fun, she loves to try new restaurants and go to concerts with friends. She also is always looking forward to plan her next trip to Mexico to visit family. By the way, Ms. Aviña speaks Spanish!
Ms. Diaz has a B.S. in Psychology from Valdosta State University, a M.Ed. and an Ed.S. from Georgia State University in School Counseling. As well, she is currently working on her Ph.D. in Counseling and Student Personnel Services at the University of Georgia. Ms. Diaz has been a school counselor in Gwinnett County Schools for 17 years and is also a Licensed Professional Counselor. She and her husband live in the Lanier Community and have three children attending Lanier Schools!
