What does a tournament look like for this year?

The REC Foundation V5RC Tournament for the 2025–2026 season centers around the game "Push Back", part of the VEX V5 Robotics Competition (V5RC). Here's a breakdown of what it's all about:

🧠 Game Overview: Push Back

• Field Size: 12’ x 12’ square.

• Teams: Two alliances (Red and Blue), each made up of two teams.

• Match Format:

  • Autonomous Period: 15 seconds.

  • Driver-Controlled Period: 1 minute and 45 seconds.

🎯 Objective

Teams compete to score more points than the opposing alliance by:

• Scoring Blocks in Goals.

• Controlling Zones within Goals.

• Parking Robots in designated zones at the end of the match.

🧮 Scoring Breakdown

• Autonomous Bonus: 10 points.

• Each Block Scored: 3 points.

• Controlled Zone in Long Goal: 10 points.

• Controlled Center Goal – Upper: 8 points.

• Controlled Center Goal – Lower: 6 points.

• 1 Parked Robot: 8 points.

• 2 Parked Robots: 30 points.

• Autonomous Win Point: Earned by completing specific tasks, can be awarded to both alliances regardless of who wins the autonomous bonus.

🧱 Field Elements

• 88 Blocks on the field.

• 4 Goals: 2 Long Goals and 2 Center Goals.

• 2 Park Zones: One for each alliance.

🌍 Competition Structure

• Events are held regionally, nationally, and internationally, culminating in the VEX Robotics World Championship.

• The competition emphasizes student-centered learning, team collaboration, and hands-on engineering.
