Thank you so much for all that attended conferences. Second Grade was so excited to share all the amazing things that your child has been doing.
Field Trip
Please don't forget to turn in permission slips for our first field trip. If you haven't had a chance to make your field trip payment, please go to MyPaymentsPlus.com to do so.
Our field trip is Friday, November 14. We welcome anyone that can chaperone, parents only! Parents get to skate and participate for free! This field trip is all hands on deck. We will have a lot of first time skaters and skates that will need to be tied.

Guiding Questions:
We have learned so much about Mary Anning and how it took perseverance and initiative to find the fossils of a sea monster. We will finish up Mary Anning with the Unit 1 assessment. We then start learning how paleontologist discover fossils, what tools they use, and how they study fossils.

Unit 3 - Measuring Lengths & Distances
Students will need to be able to use measurements to solve problems.
We will continue to build our fact fluency to 20 throughout the entire year. This Gimkit link is a fact fluency adding and subtracting now featuring doubles & doubles +1.
Test will be the week of 11/11

Students will plan and carry out an investigation to demonstrate how pushing and pulling on an object affects the motion of the object.
Native Georgians
This week in Social Studies we will comparing and contrasting the way of living between the Creek and Cherokee. We will look at how both tribes used the environment to survive, and how their way of living is different from our way of living today.
