Georgia Parent Survey
Grace Snell Middle School is participating in a canned food drive until Monday, November 13. Please send any canned goods you can donate with your child to deliver to their homeroom teacher. Thank you!
The end of the semester is approaching fast! Please work with your scholars to be sure they have everything submitted and are as prepared as they can be for their final exams. Reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions.
8TH GRADE MATH
In math this week, students will continue working with point-slope form and expand their understanding to learn how to rewrite an equation in point-slope form to slope-intercept form. Students will then begin comparing linear equations in all three forms.
ENHANCED MATH / ALGEBRA CONNECTIONS
In enhanced math this week, students will begin Unit 3, which covers Quadratic Functions. We will begin by studying patterns with a varying rate of change as opposed to a constant rate of change. Then, we will introduce the three forms of quadratic functions and wrap up the week with learning how to solve quadratic equations using the Zero Product Property and factoring.
LANGUAGE ARTS
In language arts this week, we will finish Unit 2: The Thrill of Horror. Students will be reviewing in preparation for the Unit 2 Summative Assessment.
PHYSICAL SCIENCE
In science this week, students will continue studying electricity and magnetism. Students will read more about the relationship between magnetism and electrical charges as well as construct and design electrical motors.
SOCIAL STUDIES
In social studies this week, students will continue with our fourth unit, which covers the time period when the young United States of America started to expand westward across the continent. Specifically, we will study how the Creek and Cherokee Native Americans were removed from their land across Georgia.
