Q: What is a Complete Schedule/ Full Time Student:?A: 1) at least12 hours at the college. 2) 6 total classes at Grayson HS which may include DE courses 3) combination of at least 6 classes if taking both high school courses and college class: (i.e. 3 at the college, 3 at the high school; or 2 at the college and 4 at the high school; 1 at the college 5 at the high school)
Q: Do I need to meet with my counselor if I have participated in the DE program previously? A: Yes, advisement needs to happen every year to review your graduation requirements and any new procedures with dual enrollment
Q: What is Hope Cap?
A:127 college hours
HOPE will pay up to a total of 127 Attempted- or Paid-Hours towards your first undergraduate degree.
Q: Can students take online courses due to COVID or do they have to go in person to the campus
A: students can take online courses with the college. Please check with the college of your choice to see which courses are offered online

A: Yes just make sure you repeat the process for all colleges

A: Now it is part of the application process
Q: what if you're trying to take a dual enrollment class over the summer?
A: Yes summer courses are available, check with the college for which courses are being offered
Q: once accepted to Gwinnett Tech, is there a cap on how many students can participate in the on-site (GHS) classes?
A: Usually we have 2 sections of 28-30 students, the curriculum office works very hard to accommodate all students

A: Application/ Funding application needs to be completed each year/ submission of the schedule to high school each semester

A: Yes, The Grayson Tech application is located on the students' eclass page
Q: Does the student have to start dual enrollment as a junior or senior or both?
A: Dual Enrollment is available for juniors and seniors and sophomores can take technical courses at the technical college
Q: If I've already taken my SAT would I have to take the test again before April?
A: only if you need to improve your score for admissions
Q: Can I do online dual enrollment for Gwinnett Tech and Grayson Tech? Where can I get this information?
A: Yes, information for Gwinnett Tech is located on the dual enrollment google site. The Grayson Tech application is located on the students' eclass page and also at Grayson Tech
Q: Do I have to have my SAT scores before I apply or are my PSAT scores fine?
A: Please check with the college you are wanting to attend to check their PSAT score requirement with your scores. You do not have to wait to receive your SAT scores before you apply. The SAT scores will be sent electronically.
Q: Is there a way I can take Dual 12th Language Arts over the summer and still get the credit for both college and High School? Also, Can I take intro to Econ over the summer and still get credit for college and high school
A: Yes any course you successfully complete will count towards your graduation requirements
Q: What does CATE stand for?
A: Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education
Q: Can students with IEPs participate?
A: Yes as long as they meet the admission requirements and it is part of their IEP (please double-check with the student's case manager)
Q: I am unable to send the high school transcript with an error message that a transcript is not available. Do I contact you?

Q: so for the funding application and parent participation form, do we submit before or after our application is accepted?
A: Both the SPA (student-parent participation agreement) and the Funding application is a part of the application process and must be submitted with the admission application
Q: Are the Gwinnett Tech classes on the Grayson campus the same length and location as other high school classes?
A: yes
Q: will the google slides be shared with the students to be able to access everything easier?
A: Yes, located in the grade level google classroom and in the dual enrollment google classroom
Q: Can I take core dual enrollment classes like Math 1111 on the college campus even if they're offered on the GHS campus

A: 30 hours is the max number of hours that are funded

A: GA Tech offers math courses for students under dual enrollment
