You've Got The Power!

Project #2

The topic for this project is based off of the Physics concepts: "Work, Power, & Energy".

The final product is completely up to you!

    • You decide who to work with. (Or work independently)
    • You choose how you want to show mastery of this standard.

Possible Physics Standards:

    • AKS 5: Obtain, evaluate, and communicate information about the importance of the law of conservation of energy in predicting the behavior of physical systems.
      • 5a) Describe situations in which energy is and is not conserved for a system.
      • 5b1) Calculate the kinetic energy and gravitational potential energy of an object.
      • 5b2) Calculate the amount of work performed by a force on an object.
      • 5c) Define and calculate power.
      • 5c1) Plan and carry out an investigation demonstrating conservation and rate of transfer of energy (power).

Product examples:

    • You may decide to design & build something that demonstrates the conservation of energy.
    • You can analyze the forces on an object and calculate its work, power, or energy in order to make predictions about it's motion.
    • You could create something artistic (painting, 3-D model, write a song, make a video, etc.)

By Tuesday, 11/5, we would like to know:

  • your group members (or if you're working alone).
  • your brainstorming of ideas.

*Please complete this form no later than 11/7: https://forms.gle/5LaPGiFZQVenV7bW7

11/14 - Today we shared-out to see where groups stand. At this point, you should know what your final product will look like, how it demonstrates the Physics standard you chose, and what your next steps will be.

Remember - focus on your timeline... we only have a few weeks left (and a week off for Thanksgiving).

12/5 - Final presentation! This will be an informal "gallery walk" for you to show off what you did.
