Device Renewal EOY Processes and Withdrawn Students
Below is an overview of Bay Creek's Chromebook annual renewal processes and student responsibility when withdrawing before the end of the school year. These procedures support the school's LSPI goal by fostering a seamless connection within student-centered education driven by excellence. The information listed here will help you understand the steps involved in these processes.
Annual Device Renewal
Sixth and Seventh-Grade student renew their Chromebook for the following school year.
This process happens in May at the end of each school year. The renewal process will take place during a selected content area class period. A Tech Team member will receive students outside their assigned classroom. The process should take 10 to 15 minutes per class period.
A Tech Team member will check the device and renew it to the student for the following school year.
All student GCPS-issued devices will be assessed for damage at that time.
A Tech Team member will check the student's device for damage, including broken screens, missing keys, and anything that needs to be repaired.
Students with damaged devices teachers should submit a tech ticket for repairs.
If a student is absent during their annual renewal process, the teacher should submit an ABS Form, which can be found [link here].

End-of-Year Return Device Protocol
Eighth-grade students ' Device Collection happens on the last day of final exams
8th-Grade Students (During 4th Academic Class):
Bring your GCPS Chromebook and charger to school. Wipe your device with alcohol wipes and remove all personal stickers (leave GCPS stickers). Turn in your Chromebook and charger during this class.
4th Academic Teachers (During/After 4th Academic Class):
Collect all 8th-grade Chromebooks and chargers in the provided Tech bucket. Access your class roster and device collection spreadsheet here: [Link Here] to mark any student absent, device returned, or lost charger.
Tech Team:
During postplanning, a tech team member will collect the tech buckets from the 8th-grade classrooms.
Return Device Protocol
Any student withdrawing from Bay Creek before the end of the school year
For any Bay Creek student withdrawing before the end of this school year, the parent or the student must return the Chromebook, Chromebook sleeve, and charger to the school.
Students will turn in the device to the Media Center.
Students and parents may drop the device off during school hours or contact your grade-level Assistant Principal if you have questions.
If the family plans to change schools during the summer and the student is withdrawn, meaning transferring to a new school, then the student or parent must return the device to Bay Creek Middle School’s Front Desk Receptionist.
Please ensure the student’s name is on the device when dropping it off at the school.
