MEET THE DIRECTOR

MS. JENNIFER A. ONCKEN

Jennifer Oncken is thrilled to be teaching at Francis Howell North High School, and is director for four performing choirs including Chamber Choir, Bella Voces, Men's Choir, and Treble Choir. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Vocal Certification from Lindenwood University in 2016, where she was awarded the Supero Asperum Award.

Ms. Oncken has directed more than twenty musicals, and was Assistant Music Director for Lindenwood University's 2016 production of Legally Blonde, directed by Nikki Snelson. As a soloist, she has appeared in concert with the St. Louis Philharmonic Orchestra, the Alton Symphony, the 2014 SWACDA Collegiate Honor Choir, and with the Lewis and Clark Jazz Band.

As a performer, Ms. Oncken has been seen in numerous productions, including The Mikado, La Clemenza di Tito, La Rondine, Into the Woods, and A New Brain. She has also performed as a member of the Houston Symphony Chorus, and University of Houston's Moores Concert Chorale under the direction of Dr. Betsy Cook Weber.

Prior to completing her degree, Ms. Oncken served as both Admissions Leader and as Marketing, Public Relations, and Social Media Director for Paul Mitchell the School St. Louis, and maintained a private voice and piano studio since 2006.

She is thankful for the love and support of her children Alex (19), Chase (16), and Emma (10).
