Junior Student Checklist

COLLEGE Searches

  1. Make sure that your SCOIR account is activated.

  2. Use your SCOIR account to search and save 2-year, 4-year and Technical schools that offer the experience that you are seeking (majors, location, student population, clubs/sport/activities, etc.)

  3. Set up an appointment with your college and career counselor to assist with this process.

  4. Attend any district events/webinars that will assist you with the college search process.


COLLEGE VISITS And CAREER FAIRS

  1. Schedule individual and/or group college campus visits-- see the campus, and understand what campus life is like.

  2. Utilize the 3-D campus tours made available to you in SCOIR.

  3. Attend the district college fair in the fall.

  4. Attend any other local and/or virtual college fairs. See your college and career counselor, this website and your school's eNews for more information.

Assessments

  1. Make sure that you have completed the YouScience Aptitude Assessment on SCOIR.

  2. Complete the appropriate post-secondary assessemnt, based on the path that you want to pursue:
    -ACT/SAT: 4-year or 2-year college
    -ACT WorkKeys: workforce, trades, and/or certification program
    -ASVAB: military
