The University of Arkansas Honors Convocation will be held on October 1, 2018. Junior and senior students interested in attending the University of Arkansas and becoming a part of the Honors College are encouraged to attend. A 3.5 cumulative GPA and a 28 ACT are required to become a part of the Honors College. Registration is now open and can be accessed by clicking HERE.

October 10

October 10th is a mandated testing day at FHS. Students in 9th grade will be taking the PSAT, 10th grade students and some 11th graders will be taking the PSAT/NMSQT. The remaining 11th grade students will be taking the ASVAB. Seniors will have options in lieu of attending on October 10th. Please see the information HERE for specific guidelines for seniors.

Tryouts for the 2018-2019 Men’s and Women’s Bowling Teams will be held Tuesday Oct 16 and Thursday October 18th at 5pm. The location is: Ozark Lanes in Fayetteville, 2300 N College Ave. Students who have school sponsored conflicts on those dates (ex: athletic in-season practice) may participate in a make up try-out date TBD.

Tackle cancer t-shirts

FHS Cheer is selling Tackle Cancer T-shirts. You can purchase a pink or a white shirt to wear to the "Pink out" football game in October for Breast Cancer awareness month. Shirts are $10 and profits go to Komen Ozark. When shirts come in you can pick them up in room 2301 or at the football game. Order your shirt today!

The FHS Film Program is excited to announce that we will have films playing on AETN through their "Student Selects: A Young Filmmakers Showcase" series. The series begins Friday, September 7 and run through September 28. They will play on Friday nights at 6:30PM.

GUIDED STUDY: EVERY TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, & THURSDAY

Guided Study is an optional time for students to come in and work with the assistance and support of their teachers.

Tuesdays | 10:00 - 12:00 & 1:30 - 3:30
Wednesdays | 10:00 - 12:00 & 1:30 - 3:30
Thursdays | 10:00 - 12:00 & 1:30 - 3:30

Students may stay between sessions if they would like to. They may bring a sack lunch to eat and take a break in the back classroom.

There is no sign-up requirement for students to attend. We hope to see you there!

FVA INTERNSHIPS, MENTORSHIPS, JOB SHADOWING

Our Internship Resource site is live and filled with some great opportunities from Fashion Week to Multimedia Journalism to Video Game Design. You decide your commitment level, and we will work with our partners to find the right experience for you. This could be a one-time visit or a year long internship.

Additionally, if there is a job field that interests you and it is not listed, please reach out and I will connect you with someone in the community.
