Fayetteville High School Percussion is comprised of a unique team of diverse students in grades 9-12. The program consists of the FHS Drum Line, Percussion Ensemble, and 2 Steel Bands in addition to percussionists’ roles within four concert bands, two marching bands, and two jazz bands.
During the past nine years, Fayetteville Percussionists have been selected for All-State Honor Bands 38 times, and for All-Region Honor Bands 111 times.
The Fayetteville Percussion Ensemble has performed at the MFA Sandy Feldstein National Percussion Festival (2023) and the National Conference on Percussion Pedagogy (2018). This ensemble performs regularly at the University of Arkansas Day of Percussion (2017-2025), Solo and Ensemble Contest, and the Fayetteville Percussion Ensemble Concert.
As part of the Fayetteville Marching Band, the FHS Drum Line has been the recipient of High Percussion Awards at the Northwest Arkansas Invitational (2024), Bentonville Invitational (2021), and Ozarko (2016). The Fayetteville Marching Band earned 2nd Place at the Arkansas State Marching Contest (2023) and has been a finalist at the BOA Iowa Regional (2024), BOA East Tennessee Regional (2023), & BOA Powder Springs Regional (2019). The Fayetteville Marching Band has also performed for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade (1998, 2008), Hollywood Christmas Parade (2001), Fiesta Bowl (2004), Tournament of Roses Parade (2006), Dunkin’ Doughnuts Thanksgiving Day Parade (2011), and the Walt Disney World Parade (2014, 2017, 2021).
