Library Study Space and Classrooms

The library has an abundant amount of study space available for students and library patrons to access. Some areas are even reservable. This page will provide information about all the different study space areas and classrooms in our library building.

Library Study Rooms include table, chairs, and whiteboards. These rooms will seat from 3-8 people.

Study Rooms

For information on reserving a room for quiet study, please contact the information desk at (620) 341-5205 or by visiting the information desk on the 2nd Floor. All reservations must be made up to 24 hours in advance and reservations can be up to 3 hours at a time.

Library Creative Space

The Library Creative Space is our media room. Interested in starting a podcast, editing a video for class, or recording a PowerPoint presentation. The LCS has equipment and software available for use (2nd Floor, 209 H) with reservations of 3 hours at a time.

Library Electronic Classroom (LEC)

The library has two classroom areas available for use. The Library Electronic Classroom (Room 209E) has access to 26 computers and is often used for library instruction, UL100 classes, and workshops.

Seminar Room

The Library Seminar Room (211) has room for 22 people and can be reserved with access to laptops. If laptops are needed, please let the information desk know 24 hours in advance so we can pull the appropriate number of laptops to be fully charged.

Conference Room

The Conference Room (212) can seat 12 people and includes access to a TV monitor. To reserve this room, please contact Yolanda Robinson, yrobinso@emporia.edu or (620) 341-5040.

Open Study Space

The library has open study areas around the building. Each floor has a designated zone based on your style of studying. For active collaboration and group projects, we recommend our study areas around the Learning Commons and 2nd Floor. For quiet and silent study, we recommend the 3rd and 4th Floor.

Honors College Study Space

The library also hosts the Honors College Seminar Room and the Honors College Engagement Center on the 4th Floor. These areas requires swipe access and are available to Honors students and faculty only.

Library Learning Commons

The Learning Commons is open 24/7. To book the Learning Commons, you must work through the Memorial Union Conference & Scheduling Office or contact Yolanda Robinson at the library Dean's Office at (620) 341-5040.
