William Allen White Library - “Library Bytes” Workshops - Spring 2025.
The William Allen White Library is excited to announce its “Ace The Semester” Student Success workshops for Spring 2025! We offer a variety of workshop topics that will help you succeed academically in any course.
All workshops will take place live online via Zoom and are scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on Mondays, starting Monday, February 3.
Please register in advance for each workshop at: https://forms.office.com/r/2rdr4R4nrc to receive the Zoom link for participation. Registering in advance will also ensure that you receive a recording of the workshop, even if you are not able to attend live.
Monday, February 3: Managing Your Time
Maximize your time! Discover time management strategies and learn how to prioritize. This workshop is an introduction on how to create a personalized plan to balance your academic journey with the rest of your life, leading to improved performance and reduced stress.
Monday, February 10: Start Your Literature Review Today: Get It Done
Do you have to do a literature review in one of your classes? Not sure how to get started? Well, you are not alone. In this workshop, we will define a literature review, explore strategies for finding relevant literature, and discuss how to read scholarly literature for research. Come find out the best practices along with tips and tricks to help you get it done! You will receive a template to help you format your literature review.
Monday, February 17: Stylin’ with APA Style
Wondering how to construct an in-text citation in APA or how your APA paper should be formatted? Do you want some pointers? Librarians will help demystify the basics of APA 7 and share quick tips and resources for using APA Style and citing sources!
Monday, February 24: Cite and Write with APA Academic Writer
Did you know that our library has a FREE program that helps you learn how to write your papers effectively in APA style? We will introduce you to Academic Writer, which features quick APA guides and tutorials and other help such as APA paper templates!
Monday, March 3: Pieces of History: Using Primary Sources for Research
What are primary sources, and what can they do for you? This workshop will give an introduction to different types of primary sources, such as letters, diaries, and photographs, and how to use them for your academic research.
Monday, March 10: Introduction to AI Tools for Research
This workshop will provide insights into leveraging AI tools to optimize your academic searching methods, uncovering different search strategies, and potential pitfalls of using AI for scholarly purposes.
