William Allen White Library - “Library Bytes” Workshops - Spring 2024. 

Take a small “byte” out of your time and join us for our online library workshops this spring!  All workshops will take place live online via Zoom and are scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on Mondays, starting Monday, February 12.

  • “Beyond Google: An Introduction to Library Resources". Learn the ins and outs of library databases and other ESU research tools. Follow along with a demonstration on how to find the best resources for your class assignments.

  • “Unleashing the Power of Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat”. Discover how to use Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat like a pro!  Learn how to convert files, edit PDFs, use accessibility tools, and other tips and tricks for advanced users.

  • “Start Your Literature Review Today: Get It Done”. Do you have to do a literature review in one of your classes? Not sure how to get started? Well, you are not alone. Come find out the best practices along with tips and tricks to help you get it done! You will receive a template to help you format your literature review.

  • “Wait, What’s Zotero? An Introduction”. Zotero is your Personal Management System. This FREE citation management software can organize your research for multiple projects with multiple formats (books, articles, webpages, and video). Learn to manage citations, create an alphabetized bibliography in your choice of style, and add in-text citations. Save time, research efficiently!

We will introduce you to Academic Writer, which features quick APA guides and tutorials and other help such as APA paper templates!

  • “AI-cademia: Using AI in Academic Searching”. This workshop will provide insights into leveraging AI tools to optimize your academic searching methods, uncovering different search strategies, and potential pitfalls of using AI for scholarly purposes.

Would you like to know more about free and open-source software for students?  This workshop will equip you with the knowledge and resources for finding free alternatives to help you in your academic journey and beyond.
