To help our beginner and intermediate students with their understanding and use of the future tense, I provided various scenarios seen in the pictures. Then students were asked to imagine and describe what they think will happen next. Not only did students demonstrate a clear grasp of the English future tense but also a wide vocabulary and impressive imagination.
As a great lover of poetry, I wanted to share it with the school and my students, especially English language poetry. I decided to organise a Poetry Recital Contest. With a list of poems divided up between different language levels. Knowing that a poem was appropriate for their level gave many students the necessary courage to take up the challenge and recite a poem in front of many other students, that isn't their mother tongue. All the students read beautifully, and many participants told me that this contest gave them a new and deeper appreciation for poetry and its' beauty.
