I am Erica Ramos, a teacher of Spanish Language and Literature, and during the 2024/2025 school year, I took part in the KA1 program within the Erasmus Plus program at IES El Palmeral.
This participation gave me the opportunity to attend the training course English Language Course (Intermediate Level) from July 29 to August 3 in Florence. It was a short but very intense course, as each day offered a complete experience. Each class combined vocabulary and grammar lessons, listening exercises, etc., with visits to places in Florence related to the topics covered in class. This greatly enriched the experience by allowing us to apply the content in real-life situations. Learning was reinforced through communication with classmates and the various experiences we shared.
I met people of different nationalities who showed me different ways of understanding the world and education, which was very rewarding. Also, since I wasn’t with anyone who spoke Spanish, I spent the entire time communicating in English, which made it a fully immersive and even more satisfying experience.
The icing on the cake was the setting: being accommodated next to the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and surrounded by so much culture and art made the experience truly unforgettable.
In conclusion, I learned a lot of vocabulary and strengthened my intermediate level of English, and I will try to take part in another training course in the future.
I'm Sergio Cruz, a History & Geography teacher. Last summer, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Amsterdam for six days, thanks to our Erasmus accreditation. I took part in a course focused on attention to diversity in the classroom, a topic that is becoming increasingly essential in today’s educational landscape.
The course offered both theoretical insights and practical strategies for creating more inclusive learning environments. Through workshops, group discussions, and real-world case studies, I deepened my understanding of how to address the varied needs of all students, regardless of background or ability.
Beyond the classroom, the experience of sharing ideas with fellow educators from across Europe was truly enriching. Amsterdam’s vibrant culture and inclusive spirit made it the perfect setting for this journey of learning and reflection.
This experience has inspired me to implement new approaches in my own teaching and continue promoting diversity and inclusion in education. I’m deeply grateful to Erasmus+ for making this professional and personal growth possible.
