After debating the corrective measures in the face of climate change and more specifically on the state of our river, we propose the following measures:
+Cleaning raid on the Guadalquivir riverbank, area studied)
+There is a complaint from the AMECO association of Andújar about illegal dumping.
+ Propose to the city council that the river be integrated into the city by creating a greenway.
AGREEMENTS OF THE ANDÚJAR MUNICIPAL CLIMATE CHANGE PLAN
During the last few months, as a result of the Covenant of Mayors and the commitments reached with the 2030 Agenda, the Andújar city council has promoted the first participatory process for the design of the Andújar Municipal Climate Change Plan. Different associations, groups, people in a personal capacity and our teacher and project coordinator Diego Santaella have participated in it. Together, the following proposals have been put forward:
PARKS AND GARDENS
1. Creation of more peri-urban green areas: Solar Ronda Mestanza (before car parks, end of the vistillas), Minguillo stream area, Conejeras area.
2. Less cement (avoid heat island). More green areas and shade in the city.
3. Construction of arches between sidewalks to create shadows with tree branches.
4. Investment for the creation of wells for irrigation of large parks (for example, Vistillas).
5. Irrigation technical improvements (water just the right amount of time).
6. Use of plants with low water consumption for decoration of parks and gardens.
URBAN PLANNING/ BUILDING AND HOUSING
7. Put fabrics to cover the streets not only in summer and not only in Ollerías street.
8. Put playful fountains.
9. Reduced air conditioning. Place the devices on the roofs of buildings.
10. Solar panels to prevent overheating of buildings.
11. Include improvements in the envelope of public and private buildings, as well as the effective use of traditional climate improvement methods such as shading, cross ventilation, etc. Bioclimatic constructions.
12. Vertical gardens.
13. Solar panels on all public buildings, better than occupying public land.
CITIZEN PARTICIPATION/ EDUCATION/CULTURE/ SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES
14. Citizen awareness in terms of biodiversity conservation.
15. Information to citizens regarding heat.
16. Energy and water savings in educational centers and in the Town Hall.
17. Information campaigns on self-consumption (what type of plates are suitable, what aid is available, where and how to request it, what documentation must be provided...), such as those carried out on electricity bills.
18. Recommendations for buildings that reduce heat and emissions (materials, colors, etc.).
19. Renewable energy cooperatives (own plants, encourage investment).
20. Financial aid for the implementation of solar panels and energy self-sufficiency.
21. Aid for families (windows, keep in the annual budgets of the City Council).
TRADE
22. That merchants study proposals on business hours according to temperatures, night-time business hours...
BIODIVERSITY
23. Improve bird diversity.
24. Put nest boxes for bats.
25. Nesting of birds of prey on rooftops (which do not cause nuisance).
26. Encourage good practice with birds.
SUPPLIES AND INFRASTRUCTURES
27. Review and repair of infrastructure related to sanitation and water supply
28. Reuse pool water for flushing.
29. Take measures against the loss of 30% of the water from the Rumblar to Andújar (Somajasa?).
30. Create a local electric company.
31. Put the fountains into operation in summer, with water recirculation. FOOD AND CONSUMPTION
32. Promote the purchase and consumption of seasonal products:
○ Campaigns periodically.
○ Mediterranean diet.
33. Urban/social gardens:
○ Promote and campaign to help people have their own garden, where possible.
○ Inform, hold workshops, campaigns.
34. Short distribution channels, local product fairs, etc.:
○ Awareness.
○ Organization of fairs (within a multisectoral fair).
WASTE AND CIRCULAR ECONOMY
35. Regarding critical materials and minerals and heavy metals:
○ Place specific containers for their recovery and recycle them.
○ Small businesses (for example plumbers) that need to dispose of them could do so in this way.
PEDESTRIAN MOBILITY
36. Propose school paths.
37. Cycling races for children, young people and the elderly, to promote the use of bicycles.
38. Improvement of urban infrastructures to facilitate the movement of citizens on foot, bicycle, scooter, skates and means of transport that do not pollute, enabling safe areas so that citizens use the car as little as possible for their movements within the town.
CYCLING MOBILITY
39. Change in the mobility ordinance. Regulate the use of bicycles.
40. Facilitate the use of bicycles in urban areas in favor of retail trade.
41. Local police training. Provide them with bicycles (not electric).
42. Park and ride.
