European Day of Languages

The European Day of Languages tries to promote awareness among the general public of the importance of language learning and protecting the linguistic heritage.

It was celebrated for the first time on 26th September 2001 with the participation of millions of people in 45 member states. It was a great success, so the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe decided to make this day an annual event to be celebrated on 26th September.

At I. E.S. El Tablero, we celebrated that important day with different activities depending on the year.  You can see some pictures and a review of each activity in the corresponding sections above.

El Día Europeo de las Lenguas intenta promover la conciencia entre el público general sobre la importancia del aprendizaje de lenguas y la protección del patrimonio lingüístico.

Se celebró por primera vez el 26 de septiembre de 2001 con la participación de millones de personas en 45 estados miembros. Fue un gran éxito, por lo que el Comité de ministros del Consejo de Europa decidió convertir este día en un evento de celebración.
