What research topics do you work on?
My research focuses on human–robot interaction, empathetic AI, dialogue systems, multi-agent interaction, well-being, multimodal state estimation, assistive technology, and immersive environments. Across these areas, I am particularly interested in how AI can support reflection, empathy, decision making, and relationships without diminishing human autonomy.

Yes. I am interested in collaborations that connect fundamental research with real-world challenges. Potential forms of collaboration include joint research, technology evaluation, field studies, experimental design, workshops, and the development of new human-centered AI and robotic applications.

How can I join the laboratory as a student?
Undergraduate students normally join the laboratory through the Department of Mechano-Informatics, Faculty of Engineering, The University of Tokyo. Master’s and doctoral students can apply through the Department of Mechano-Informatics, Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, The University of Tokyo. Admission is handled through the university’s official application process. Prospective students should review the latest admission requirements before contacting the laboratory.
