MS 8 Cross-Project Workshop #1

開催趣旨：ムーンショット目標8では、気象制御の実現とその社会実装可能性の探求のために、気象学、数理科学、土木工学などの数物系科学のみならず、人文社会科学の研究者も含めた多様な研究者が結集しています。これらの各学域における研究者が自らの専門分野の研究を推し進めるだけでは目標達成は難しく、学域間の連携やそれによる新しい学問の創成が必要です。特に新しい学問の創成には世代を超えた時間がかかることも多いため、若手研究者・学生の挑戦を積極的に後押しする必要があります。本WSでは研究開発プロジェクトの垣根に囚われずに研究者間の自由闊達な議論を通じて目標達成に資する新しい学問の創成の萌芽を探索することを目的とします。

Purpose: Moonshot Goal 8 brings together a diverse group of researchers in the humanities and social sciences as well as the mathematical and physical sciences, including meteorology, mathematical sciences, and civil engineering, in order to realize meteorological control and explore its potential for implementation in society. It is difficult for researchers in each of these disciplines to achieve their goals if they only promote research in their own specialized fields. Collaboration among disciplines and the creation of new disciplines through such collaboration are necessary. In particular, since the creation of new disciplines takes long time, it is necessary to actively encourage young researchers and students to take up the challenge. The purpose of this workshop is to search for the budding seeds of new academic disciplines that will contribute to the achievement of our goals through free and vigorous discussions among researchers without being bound by the boundaries of research and development projects.
