We also have a joint event, "International Workshop on Multi-scale Biological Plasticity," on the 8th at the same venue.  You can register both events from the registration link above.

Aim of this workshop

Information processing has been one of the core concepts for understanding complicated responses and behaviors of biological systems. Recent progress in imaging, sequencing, and other technologies has enabled quantitative and temporal measurements and perturbations of biological phenomena at every scale, from a single molecule level to an organism level. The development of theoretical frameworks is critical for elucidating the underlying principles of biological information processing, bolstered by the rapid advancement of data and information technologies.

Historically, the theoretical underpinnings of biological information processing have been developed mainly within the realm of neuroscience over the past century. However, the domain of these theories is now broadening, transcending the traditional confines of neuroscience to encompass the biophysics and systems biology of both single-cell and multicellular dynamics. As a result, the borders between these scientific disciplines are becoming increasingly blurred, paving the way for the emergence of a new, integrative field of biological information processing.

The goal of this workshop is to cast a spotlight on this nascent field by gathering leading-edge researchers from across the diverse yet interconnected domains of quantitative biology, systems neuroscience, and biophysics. Our objective is to establish an international research network dedicated to the exploration of this burgeoning field. We intend to foster a dynamic exchange of knowledge and ideas among neuroscience, biophysics, and quantitative biology, thereby accelerating our collective understanding and research endeavors in biological information processing.
