緊急事態宣言期間の延長と東大の活動制限（レベル３）継続により１ヶ月以上にわたって在宅勤務・在宅学習を強いられ、不安な日を過ごされているかと存じます。４月末に実施したアンケートの回答を拝見したところ、生研として新型コロナウイルスへの対策を講じているのか実態が分からないという大変もっともな意見がありました。そこで、あらためてこの書面でご案内します。
生研では「生研・新型コロナウイルス対策タスクフォース」が活動しています。その目的は、「新型コロナウイルス感染症の蔓延によって発生した社会課題と、今後発生する未然課題に対する生研のミッションを検討」するものです。単なる研究テーマ探しに聞こえますが、違います。ここで言う社会課題とは生研の構成員が直面している「お困りごと」のことであり、未然課題とは活動再開を見据えた「準備」のことです。先日お送りしたアンケートは、その現状把握のためでした。
タスクフォースでは我々自身、あるいは所内関係各所に働きかけて、ほぼ毎日、解決方策を探っています。例えば、いま取り組んでいるアクションは下記のとおりです。

英語による非常時情報の発信
ＦＡＱやコロナ関連のお知らせを英語でも通知します。研究室の留学生や、これから来日する学生にもお伝えください。
新型コロナ・ポストコロナ関連の生研プロジェクト
在およびコロナ終息後の課題を所で支援する仕組みを作っています。生研は研究するところです。転んでもタダでは起き上がりません。
研究所公開・入試説明会・IIS PhD Student Live の代わりとなる学生交流・情報発信
特に新入生向けに情報交流の場を提供します。LINEアカウントはプライベート用にして、研究生活に必要なプロフェッショナル情報はSlackで見つけてください。
活動制限期間中・後の衛生管理と建物保全
活動再開後に安心して施設を利用する仕組みを考えています。
支援物資の提供・製造
所内外の要請を受けて、困っている人を支援します。
タスクフォース専用メールアドレスを作りました（corona-tf [at] iis.u-tokyo.ac.jp）。気になることがあれば連絡してください。メンバーの溝口先生（ＲＭＯ／化学）、竹内渉先生（企画運営室／環境）、松永先生（企画運営室／バイオ）、松山先生（広報室／バイオ）、興津先生（医師／移植医療）、前橋さん（ＲＭＯ／情報）と年吉（座長／何でも）が話を聞いて、なんとかする方法を考えます。

Dear IIS Members (Faculty, Staff Members and Students)
The state of emergency has been extended due to the persisting COVID-19 pandemic, and accordingly the UTokyo activities remain grounded in Level-3 status. Everyone must be feeling uneasy after having spent more than a month in tele-working/studying at home. In the answers to our questionnaire sent out in the end of April, we saw comments that it is not clear if the IIS is doing something in response to this crisis … and perhaps you are right. It made us write this message to you all.
The “IIS COVID-19 Task Force” has been at work with a mission to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield to this pandemic. We deal with the problems that you are facing now. We also prepare to resume as soon as the restrictions are lifted. Your answers to our questionnaire help us a lot to assess the situation.
With the aid of the IIS officials concerned, the Task Force is working on the following action items now:

Is the IIS totally inaccessible? Talk to your supervisor to check your security clearance.
Dissemination of information
FAQs and announcements are provided in English for international researchers and students.
COVID-19 and post COVID-19 Projects
A new institutional arrangement is underway to financially support COVID-19 related research projects. IIS is a place to research after all.
