Mrs. Dickey

My name is Wanda Dickey, and I’ve been teaching for 27 years. I'm married with one son and two fur babies. I enjoy teaching reading and language arts because I am so passionate about reading and writing. I'm extremely thrilled to be teaching at Navo Middle School and look forward to this school year.

I’ve wanted to teach since I was four years old. Both paternal aunts were teachers and instilled a love for learning in me. When friends came to my house as a child, I used to make them play school. I even married into a family of educators; my husband’s aunt was my first grade teacher. I believe that all students have the ability and capacity to learn, and it’s my job to help them. I try all methods of teaching in order to assist my students. I enjoy watching their faces when they finally understand a concept. It’s like a light bulb coming on. I can’t imagine doing anything different.
