Hi! I'm Cara Applewhite, and I am the school counselor at Sandbrock Ranch Elementary School. This will be my seventeenth year in education and my sixth year as a school counselor. My role on campus is to support the social and emotional needs of all students and staff while also being an advocate for our students and ensuring that they reach their full academic potential. Creating a safe, inviting, and mindful space for students is something that I aim to do every day.
When I am not busy being a school counselor, you can find me spending time with my family. My husband, Stephen, and I have been married for almost 9 years, and we have three little ones. My daughter Finley is 7 and is my mini-me in more ways than one. She is in first grade here at SRE in Ms. Mireles' class. My son Beau is 5 and an unstoppable wrecking ball that never stops talking. He is in Ms. Robinson's kindergarten class this year. Madi is our youngest. She is 2 years old and her sweet and mischievous personality is the perfect completion to our family. They are my guiding force in everything that I do. When a student visits my office, I always try to think through the lens of, "how would I want someone to treat my kids in this situation."
Please never hesitate to email or call anytime. I am always here to help in any way that I can! I am so excited to work with all of our Champions this year!
