Hello, Champions! My name is Ashley Horn and I am so thrilled to be your math teacher this year. I started my career in education in 2006 after attending the University of Texas, Austin (Hook 'em). I am passionate about making learning engaging and meaningful. My hope is that all of my students feel empowered with the skills and confidence to excel in their academic and everyday lives. My passion for learning also led me to achieve my National Board Certification in 2022.
When I'm not teaching, some of my favorite things include reading, playing board games and traveling. I am looking forward to this year, and I can't wait to get started!
Hey Sandbrock Champions, my name is Zachary Rodriguez and I am so excited to be back at Sandbrock for my third year! I grew up in Southern California and graduated from the University of La Verne. I come from a family of educators and have always had a feeling that one day I would become a teacher. I started teaching at my old high school as an assistant director of the theater arts program for 3 years. With some detours along the way, like working for The Walt Disney as an imagineer intern, I decided that it was time for a change, during the pandemic I decided to move to Texas with my family who has been in Denton for 12 years now. I love to be outdoors and will make any excuse to be in nature. In my free time I love to continue my passion for videography, camping, and exploring. I am looking forward to the new school year and getting a chance to get to know everyone!
Hello! I’m Ms. Hankey, and I’m so excited to be your ELAR and Social Studies teacher this year. I grew up in Southwest Michigan and moved to Denton in 2020 to attend UNT. Although I will always be a proud Michigander, Texas has been the perfect place to call home!
I am a first year teacher with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and an ESL certification who values student engagement and family involvement. My goal is to create a supportive classroom environment where every student can thrive. Outside of teaching, I enjoy crochet, plant care, and reading. I cannot wait to get to know you all more and to get started learning! 😊🌟
Calling all SRE Champions! My name is Anuschka Floyd and I am new to SRE. After embarking the world of teaching early childhood/pre-k, I decided to head back to the University of North Texas to complete my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education.
On the home front, I recently married my best friend and am the proud mom of three stellar sons. Our household is a lively one, featuring Zoey and Rocket, our two dogs, and Macaroon, our tuxedo cat who’s always dressed to impress.
In my free time you can find me enjoying the outdoors, camping, and being physically active.
This is my first year as an elementary school teacher and I'm buzzing with enthusiasm to build connections with your fabulous 5th graders.
