Kindergarten Instructional Expectations 25-26:
Sam Houston Elementary uses the workshop model to teach lessons in all subject areas. Students will learn from their homeroom teacher as well as fellow kindergarten teachers/staff if needed during success time. Success time is a time to work on skills we need extra practice on.
Students will learn snap words, letter names and sounds, strategies to help them read and write.
Develop Number Sense: Counting forward and backward 1-20, thinking strategies and joining and separating numbers.
