My name is Charley Saiz

I live with my wife, Lori, twin boys, Colton & Elliot, and baby girl Charlee.

I have 1 brother. He lives in Friona with his, daughter and my mom in Friona, TX.  My dad passed away in 2014. My wife's mom lives in Denton and the kids love spending time with Grandma (probably because she spoils them with McDonald's and Dominos!)

My best friends are Coach Guilford & Coach Whitley. My non-Denton best friends are my old high school bros. One is the Head Golf Coach at the new High School in Frenship, TX. One is the pharmacist at the HEB in Weatherford, and the other is a PT down in the Austin area (Buda.) I have another old college buddy that lives in Highland Village and is some kind of hot-shot mass-marketing business guy.

My favorite TV shows are The Office, Big Bang Theory, Game of Thrones, and Lone Star Law.  Recently I've found myself watching random Youtube videos & reels.

My favorite Movie is all the Marvel and Star Wars movies. If I had to pick a Marvel movie I’d go with Winter Soldier, Ragnarok, and Endgame/Infinity War, and Guardians as my top 5. Star Wars is easy, the original 3 hands down! Don’t get me wrong, they are all great movies and I’ll watch them anytime they are on TV. Outside of those two I enjoy comedies & action flicks

My favorite bands are Jimmy Eat World, Thousand Foot Krutch and Starset to name a few. My top stations on XM radio are, Octane (ch37) & Turbo (ch41).  

My favorite college teams are Texas and North Texas.

My favorite sports teams are the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs.

The subject I like best in school is Lunch? j/k it's Math & Athletics, duh.

The subject I like least in school is ELAR - those crazy teachers filling your head full of crazy stories ;)

List a few things that make you happy when my kids laugh/smile, making my wife happy.  At school it makes me happy to see my students being successful.

I am often afraid of scary stuff (I don't watch Horror or creepy movies/shows)

When I grow up I want to: be the last OG here at Harpool.  There are a bunch of handprints out by the office.  I will be the last handprint remaining. 

I get angry when people don’t follow the rules or do what they are told to do by their boss/teacher.

I am really proud of myself when I see my students being successful in life.

I have the most trouble with statistics in Math.

The best part of math is seeing how everything fits and is connected together.

This year my goal in math is to have 100% of my students get Masters rating on STAAR

This summer I was busy!  We kicked off the summer by visiting Jellystone Park in Larkspur, CO.  While there we went to Garden of the Gods, checked out a drive through wildlife park in Denver and even drove up to the Colorado Buc-ees outside Ft. Collins to get us some Buc-ees Colorado shirts!  After that I went to summer workouts at Guyer before spending the first part of July at a wedding in Dalhart, followed by trip to the Jellystone in Burleson with some friends.  Made a quick trip back home to Friona for a funeral then spent a few days down in San Antonio at the THSCA Coaching Convention.  After coming home from that, it was a 'short' week and a half of "Rest" then before I knew it, I had to report back!
