Middle School Requirements
All students are required to take the following courses.

During the course selection process, all course requests will be entered in
student's Home Access Center (HAC).
Use the course card to plan and select courses for the 2026-2027 school year.
RMS counselors will attempt to honor all requests; however, enrollment numbers and scheduling conflicts may result in enrollment in alternate courses rather than the selected choices.
Students will make 2 choices:
1 PE
PE 6
PE 6 Sports and Skills
1 Electives
Art
Band
Choir
Orchestra
Theatre Arts
AVID
Technology Applications
Placement in Dyslexia or Intervention will take place of an elective.

WHAT IS AVID?
Avid is an elective class that helps students to become college, career, or military ready. The AVID class encourages students to take rigorous courses and provides them with the support needed to help them excel in these courses and be ready for life after high school. Regardless of their life circumstances, AVID students overcome obstacles and achieve success. Not only do AVID students graduate and attend college at higher rates, but more importantly, they can think critically, collaborate, and set high expectations to confidently conquer the challenges that await them.
