Prevention and Intervention

Prevention and Intervention Services

Denton ISD counseling and social work provides a variety of prevention and intervention services.  Each campus recognizes the needs of staff, students, and the community.  The counseling and social work department strives to provide services that support healthy development and academic achievement.

Denton ISD Bullying/Cyberbullying Reporting

The district has adopted STOPit as their new reporting app and will replace SafeSchools. With STOPit, you have the power to protect yourself and others from harmful, inappropriate, or unsafe behavior. Use the STOPit mobile app to anonymously report incidents to your school. Reporting is completely anonymous. You can include text, images or video. It only takes a few seconds.

Prevention and Intervention Mandated Education Lessons

Denton ISD is committed to providing prevention and intervention education opportunities for students. Under the Texas Education Code several prevention and intervention topics are mandated each school year.  Developmentally appropriate prevention and intervention education lessons are created by committee.  Each unit has been reviewed and approved by the Denton ISD Student Health Advisory Council and the Board of Education (SHAC).  These prevention and intervention education lessons were designed using evidence based resources and align with the Texas Education Code. These units will be implemented as classroom presentations by the Counseling and Social Work department.

Denton ISD values parent/guardian partnership in learning.  We support parents/guardians as the primary educators of their children.  As a parent/guardian, you have the right to preview all mandated prevention and intervention education material.  All mandated material can be found at the links below.
