Hello! My name is Peyton Perduyn. I am excited to begin my first full year at Calhoun Middle School!
I grew up just south of Denton in Lewisville, and graduated with the Lewisville High School class of 2018. Teaching has always been a passion of mine- in fact, I always knew I was going to be a teacher, I just didn't know what I wanted to teach. My passion for history was discovered during my AP history classes in high school, and later reinforced during my undergrad. I began my college studies at the University of North Texas in 2018, when I first moved to Denton. I graduated magna cum laude with my B.A. in history and a Spanish minor in 2020. Following my undergrad, I began working for Denton ISD as a paraprofessional in the PABS program for one year before earning my teaching certification. I started working at Calhoun MS in the Spring semester of 2023 and completed my Master's of Education in Teaching the same semester. Currently, I am a full-time, first year Ph.D. student with the University of North Texas' educational psychology department. I am SO excited to begin my second year (and first FULL year) at Calhoun.
My partner, Joy, and I have three kittens and a puppy. We are also huge soccer fans, supporters of FC Dallas, and season ticket holders! My favorite book is Ender's Game, I love the color green, and my favorite snack is chex mix. GO MEAN GREAN!
