Welcome to 1st grade! My name is Martie Ewing, and I am excited to be your child’s teacher. I feel blessed to be a part of the Pecan Creek family, and I’m looking forward to a fantastic year with you and your child!

I have been a teacher for 28 years. I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I began my teaching career in Denton at McNair Elementary before moving to Austin, where I taught in Leander ISD for 13 years and then in Oak Park USD in California for six years. We moved back to Denton in June of 2021, and I am so happy to be home, where I grew up.

I love spending time with my husband, Wayne, and daughter, Ella, a college student in Maryland. We enjoy hiking, watching movies, and serving in our church. I also enjoy reading, listening to podcasts, cooking, and walking our dog, Pepper. 

I know this year will be wonderful, and I'm so excited to get to know you and your child as we grow and learn together! Thank you for trusting me with your child this year; I will treat each one as my own and look forward to the relationships we will build together.
