A native of New Jersey, I have lived in Texas for 30 years and in Denton for 25. I'm involved in the Denton community and am proud to work in the same school my daughter attended. I graduated from Kalamazoo College with a BA in sociology and anthropology and hold an MA from the University of Houston. I became a teacher after a career in textbook publishing. My daughter Madeleine completed the IB program at Denton HS and is pursuing a Ph.D. in English at the University of Virginia. My husband directs the creative writing program in UNT's English Department. Language and Literature is the family business.
