IB Math Focus
This is our Taylor trio- my husband Chris, daughter Geneva (aka Ginny Wren), and myself. Geneva is going to be in 1st grade at Newton Rayzor!
I belong to a giant Brady Bunch blended family and our "home base" has been here in Denton since the 1960s. My grandmother lived on Alice Street and I played in the concrete creek beds as a child. I've been teaching since 2007- fell in love with teaching math after a childhood of feeling like a math failure. I can talk for hours now about my love for math teaching…
I love adventuring! Learning is one of my favorite ways to explore, but I also love camping, mountains, woods, rivers, and oceans! I love travel and cultures- I'm a Francophile (love all things France & French). I spent 17 summers in France and speak a bit of that lingo.
I'm a big fan of good food (like the French)! Especially, Asian and Chinese foods. I taught in China my first year of teaching- lived near Chengdu.
I love playing soccer- it is an international language and friendship-making game. I help coach GOAL on our campus.
This school has held a special place in our family- since I was a child- we'd drive by and my (dyslexic) mom would tell me about how she finally learned to start reading in 2nd grade - because of a special teacher she had when she attended Newton Rayzor. By the way- she became a pediatric anesthesiologist who worked at Scottish Rite Hospital! (She also has ADD - If you have a child who can relate - I have a HUGE heart for all the kids that have a hard time sitting still - or have learning differences - because I was raised by one of those kids and she is one of my biggest heroes!)

This is me and my wonderful husband, Peter.
I am a 4th generation teacher!
I have taught Montessori, First, Third, Fourth and Fifth Grades. This will be my 25th. year as an educator. I have taught every subject and have a voracious appetite for learning. I have been team lead for 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades, a member of Campus Leadership team for 7 years, a member of DentonISD Education Improvement Council from 2010-2014, and I received Teacher of the Year in 2014. I received my Bachelor of Science at Texas Woman's University in Early Education through 6th Grade with an English as a Second Language certification as well.
I began my journey at Newton Rayzor in 2020. I will NEVER leave (until I retire, and then I'll probably sub). We have a very special group of parents, students and staff at our campus and in all of my years of experience, I've never been happier in my career!
I am a Dentonite and live near Denton's beautiful square! My husband, Peter, and I have been married for 24 years. We have one son, WeBu, who married his high school sweetheart, Megan. They blessed us with twins, Pax and Nova, who are now 8 years old and will be in Third Grade at NRE. We also have a new addition to our family, little Oryn who will be a year old soon.
I am a founder and board member of Denton's first non-profit, community run, LPFM radio station at 92.9fm, kuzu.fm.
This station is supported and funded by members of the community.
